Schumann + Bruckner

About this event

"Geniushene shows that she is the kind of artist who takes risks for intensity, to transport us beyond this planet and deeper into the mystery of ourselves." -Boston Musical Intelligencer Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Artist-in-Residence Anna Geniushene returns to play Schumann's marvelously genial Piano Concerto, with its beaming repartee between piano and orchestra. After intermission, Music Director Nathalie Stutzmann unleashes the mighty Atlanta Symphony Orchestra brass in Bruckner's epic Symphony No. 5, a piece that traverses the space between hymn-like poignance and Herculean muscle for a symphonic and psychological adventure.
